Bowled Over

Hi there!
I'm popping in with a card for Fusion and the MFT Colour challenges.  I took the Fusion sketch and turned it sideways and also used the baking/kitchen theme from the photo as inspiration to ink up these MFT stamps.  The bowls are popped up on foam tape on top of the wonky stitched squares.  I framed the sentiment with some Nuvo drops and also used them for the dots on the bowls.  I know I'm late to the game with Nuvo drops but I am loving them!  My poor gems are getting neglected...

CASology #251

Welcome to Week 251 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I don't know too many people who like medicine but sometimes I suppose it's a necessity.  Wouldn't it be nice if love could cure all ills?  Until then pills and potions will be around so why not make them cute like these little heart shaped ones!  These and a spoonful of sugar should go down pretty easily.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Hibiscus Thank You

Hello hello!
I've got a simple card for two challenges today - CAS Colours and Sketches and the Just Add Ink Just Choose Two challenge (I chose flowers & washi tape).  There's a lot of Altenew going on with this card - stamps, washi, ink - which is unusual for me as I normally mix and match a few different companies.  I laid two strips of washi tape and then popped up the fussy cut flower and the sentiment on foam tape.  I actually made a few with different sentiments.  Finally I dug out some yellow Liquid Pearls to use on the centre of the flower for a little shine and texture.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Flower & leaves from Hibiscus Bouquet, Sentiment from Many Thanks) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaMark, VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukeniko, (Coral Berry, Forest Glades) Altenew

Ice Cream & Pedal Bikes

America's Cup fever is in full swing here as the races started yesterday in the Great Sound at the west end of the island.  I've never paid much attention to it in the past but I finally watched some races today and I'll admit they're pretty exciting.  It will be going on all month so I have a feeling that I'll be as into it as everyone else before long.

Between watching races I managed to get some crafty time in.  I've got a few cards to share over the next few days.  Today I'm starting with a card for the Reverse Confetti Sketch for You to Try.  I love these RC ice cream dies and they are just meant to be paired with bright and happy colours!  I used Nuvo Drops to add the dots around the sentiment and the detail on the ice cream.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Strawberry Slush, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, Coastal Cabana, Crumb Cake) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Love & Ice Cream) Reverse Confetti
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukeniko
Dies:  (Ice cream) Reverse Confetti
Other:  (Nuvo White Crystal Drops) Tonic

Next up is a card for the Colour Throwdown also using Reverse Confetti stamps.  I actually paper pieced the green onto the bike. Not sure what I was thinking as it was insanely fiddly but I like that it matches the rest of the green.  The bike is popped up on foam tape and I used Nuvo Drops here again.
That's it for today.  Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Cardstock:  (Gumball Green, Smokey Slate, Basic Grey) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (All from Rollin') Reverse Confetti

Kitties & Polka Dots

Hello and happy Friday!

I'm sharing a card today for the Simon Says Wednesday Furry Friends challenge.  I was totally inspired by this card of Caroline's at her blog KISS - Keep It Sweet and Simple.  I love her style and her use of fun bright colours.  If you've never seen her work you must check it out - it's fabulous!  Instead of inked squares I used MFT patterned paper.  I stamped and fussy cut the MFT kitties and added just a touch of pink to each of them before popping them up on foam tape.  I'm going to make a doggie one next.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Patterned Paper:  (Dots & Stripes Sorbet 6x6, Dots & Stripes Fresh 6x6) My Favourite Things
Stamps:  (Cats & sentiment from Cool Cat, Cats from I Knead You) My Favourite Things
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black, Memento Tuxedo Black) Tsukeniko

Birthday Purses

Hello hello!  Back to work today after a lovely midweek break.  Unfortunately today is insanely humid.  Yuck!  I guess summer is really here.
I've got a card for the Cupcake Inspirations Fashionista challenge.  I stamped these Skipping Stones Design purses in ombre colours, gave them some gem clasps and popped the sentiment on top of them so it wouldn't get lost.  A pretty easy design and it would be fun to make a few in different colours to have on hand for fashion loving girlfriends.

Butterfly Birthday Wishes

Hello and Happy Bermuda Day!
It's a public holiday here and the (unofficial) first day of the year for Bermudians to go swimming.  It's super humid so Luis and I will be heading down to the dock later on to cool off.  In the meantime I have a card for the Paper Players CAS butterfly challenge.  I used some embossing paste with an Altenew stencil for the background along with an Altenew sentiment and Papertrey Ink butterflies.  Nice and quick to put together but the paste and popped up butterfly add lots of dimension and texture.
That's it for now.  Time to fire up the BBQ for some lunch.  Have a lovely day!

CASology #250

Welcome to Week 250 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

Loudness can be subjective so I think one could go in a number of directions with this cue word.  I thought about airplanes, my cat's purr (really loud when it's right in your ear at 1am!) and bright (or loud) colours amongst other things but in the end I went for loud music using this fun set from Paper Smooches along with Lil' Inker Designs sentiment.  I also broke out my Hero Arts inks which haven't seen the light of day in a while.  It was fun to rediscover them!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Tribal Butterfly

Hi there!  I've got a card for the Just Us Girls Trend Week challenge - Create a background using inks.  I had fun inking up a panel of paper with Distress Inks and then die cutting this super cool Waffle Flower tribal pattern.  I layered a solid vellum butterfly behind the grey one and the edges of the wings are popped up on foam tape.  I added some Nuvo drops to the butterfly for a bit of fun.

CASology #248

Welcome to Week 248 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

This sentiment comes from the only Verve set that I own and it gets a lot of use.  I love the fact that it fits so perfectly onto this Papertrey Ink grad cap die.  It makes for some very quick and easy cards!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Flamingos & Unicorns

I've got two cards to share tonight.  First up is for the Simon Says Wednesday challenge - A Hint of Pink and the Seize the Birthday Anything Goes challenge.  A friend of mine gave me a few of these flamingos which are really cute and add some fun dimension to the design.  They also help to make for some quick and easy cards.  The hardest part was choosing the patterned paper!

Next is a card for the My Favourite Things sketch challenge (I flipped the sketch upside down) and  the CAS on Sunday challenge to use glitter or sequins.  I pulled out that fabulous rainbow glitter tape again.  I think this is going to be the first time I actually use up an entire roll of washi tape.  Now THAT is an accomplishment!

Butterfly Rainbow

Hi there!  This past week has been extra busy at work so I really didn't get into the Craft Cave at all but today I managed to make a card for two challenges - Curtain Call and The Heart Desires.  Lots of butterflies popping up in challenges these days which gave me a reason to ink up this Papertrey Ink butterfly with these yummy Altenew inks.  A rainbow of butterflies...  ahhhhh!  4 of them are stamped directly onto the card and the other 4 are popped up for some dimension. I finished it off with my go-to Mama Elephant thanks die covered with a generous coating of Glossy Accents and a sprinkle of gems.  Hope you all had a good weekend!

ETA:  Also meant to play along with the photo inspiration over at the Fusion challenge - How pretty is that butterfly surrounded by the rainbow of watercolors?

CASology #247

Welcome to Week 247 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I fell in love with these Altenew jellyfish the moment I saw them and the sentiment was perfect for this week's cue word.  I can't wait to play with them some more.  I'm pretty sure there will be a rainbow of jellyfish across a card before long.  :)

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!
