CASology #226

Welcome to Week 226 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

This week our sponsor, Kitty Bee Designs, has again provided us with some of their cute images to use for our cards.  I immediately fell for this adorable kitty peeking out from behind her cake.   I did some simple Copic coloring and fussy cutting and added a plain blue panel behind her for a little bit of interest.  Using a solid colour keeps the design from getting too busy.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design and then play along!

Meowy Christmas

Hi there!  I had some unexpected time to craft today so I'm back with a few more cards.  First up is a card for the CAS on Sunday Pets challenge.  About a month ago we spent a day hunkered down in the house waiting out Hurricane Nicole.  I ended up spending a big part of the day coloring stamped images and I'm slowly getting around to actually making cards with them.  I made two of the same card just with different coloured kitties from Newton's Nook.  The paper is an ancient piece of 12x12 patterned paper that is finally seeing the light of day.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Patterned Paper:  ?
Stamps:  (All from Newton's Holiday Mischief) Newton's Nook
Inks:  (Memento Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko
Die:  (Wonky Stitched Square) My Favourite Things
Glitter:  (Clear Wink of Stella) Zig

Next is a card for the Little Tangles CAS challenge.  I used some off white MFT patterned paper in the background for a little interest.  The ornament is embossed in silver and I thought some pink would add a bit of fun to the card.

Okay, that's really it for today!  Have a good night!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Black) Gina K
Patterned Paper:  My Favourite Things
Stamps:  (Ornament from Merry & Bright, Sentiment from Very Merry) Neat & Tangled
Inks:  (VersaMark, VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Embossing Powder:  (Silver) Ranger
Twine:  The Twinery
Gems:  Recollection

Inspired By All The Trees

Hi there!  I'm playing along today with the photo inspiration at Inspired by All the Little Things.  I love those fun coloured trees especially the one that looks a little tipsy.  :)  I know C9 and PTI have some fun bottle brush tree stamps but they haven't made it into my inventory yet so I used these Altenew tree silhouettes for my card.  I used my MISTI to get a nice smooth image although the colours ended up a little richer than I had planned.  I still like how it came out though.

Hope you are all having a lovely day and Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White, Textured White) Bazzill, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up

Merry Zig Zags

Hello hello!  Popping in quickly with a CAS card for three challenges.  I used the design over at CAS(E) This Sketch as a starting point.  Just Add Ink asked us to use two of three elements and I used die cuts and designer paper.  Finally The Paper Players is having a CAS Christmas challenge and this is my second entry for them.  I stacked 3 black merry diecuts before adding the designer paper die cut on the top.  I covered them with Wink of Stella and then added some bling below the embossed sentiment.  This actually came together pretty quickly and I love the fun zig zags!

CASology #225

Welcome to Week 225 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

Today's cue word has tons of possibilities!  I went with two soft things on my card - an adorable (but naughty) kitty and a ball of yarn.  I wrapped the twine around a cardstock circle and then had fun stringing it back and forth under the frame.  Because the twine is a little busy I kept the colour palette simple to retain some CASness.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design and then play along!

Baubles & Flowers

Hi there!  Hope you all had a good weekend and your week is off to a good start. Unfortunately I lost most of yesterday to a migraine which really sucked especially as it was the first beautiful day we've had in a while.  :(  However, I got a bit of crafty time in today and have two cards to share.  For this card I used the colours from the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge and am also playing along with the Addicted to CAS Ombre challenge.  I'm also going to enter this in the CAS Christmas challenge at The Paper Players.  I paired some Altenew ornaments with a Hero Arts sentiment and added gems for a little bit of bling.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White, Textured White) Bazzill
Stamps:  (Ornaments from Festive Silhouettes) Altenew, (Sentiment from CL621)Hero Arts
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Bashful Blue, Pacific Point, Night of Navy) Stampin' Up
Gems:  Recollection

This card uses the current ColourQ colours.  Except for the sentiment these are NBUS stamps from Winnie & Walter.  I had fun putting together the flower elements and I used the reverse side of the vase stamp to "colour" it in.  Everything is popped up on foam tape at different heights for some fun dimension.

That's it for today.  See you tomorrow for CASology!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Old Olive, Chocolate Chip) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Flowers, leaves & vase from In Bloom: Lola's Bouquet) Winnie & Walter, (Sentiment from Many Thanks) Altenew
Inks:  (Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip) Stampin' Up

Christmas Duo

Hi there!  I've got two cards to share this evening for three challenges.  First up is for the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge.  I've had this Technique Tuesday sentiment for ages and today it finally got it's moment to shine (or twinkle even)!  I have lots of American Crafts glitter tape kicking around and thought it would compliment the sentiment well.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Twinkle On) Technique Tuesday
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko

This card is for two challenges.  Lawnscaping is having a CAS challenge and I took inspiration from the photo at Inspired By All The Little Things for my design.  These Lawn Fawn stamps are all NBUS too.  I ordered them last year but they arrived too late for the holidays.  Saves me from having to order Christmas stamps for this year.
Ha ha ha ha ha!
Yeah right...

CASology #224

Welcome to Week 224 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I am head over heels for these adorable images from Tara Wakefield.  How sweet are these critters?  I coloured them with Copics and gave them a little shadow to ground them.  I also added some Wink of Stella to the hearts.  I actually made 2 of this card but with different sentiments.  The first is from Neat & Tangled and the second is from WPlus9.  Which one do you like best?

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design and then play along!

Dreamy & Beachy

Hi there!  I've got two more cards to share today.  First is my entry for The Card Concept.  I immediately thought of this typewriter image from Mama Elephant and I pulled out some soft and dreamy Heidi Swapp paper to pair it with.  The scalloped Winnie & Walter frame adds to the soft feel of it all as well using pearls instead of diamond bling.  I'd say the style is halfway between Clean and Simple and Clean and Layered.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Soft Stone) Papertrey Ink
Patterned Paper:  (Dreamy 6x6) Heidi Swapp
Stamps:  (Typewriter & sentiment from Type It) Mama Elephant
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Mint Macaron) Stampin' Up
Die:  (Scalloped rectangle) Winnie & Walter
Gems:  Recollections

Next is a card for Freshly Made Sketches.  This Newton's Nook Sun Soaked Christmas stamp set is perfect for us here in Bermuda!  I think this is one set that will definitely get a lot of use.  I coloured the image with Copics and popped the circle up on foam tape over the MFT patterned paper.

That's it for now.  Have a wonderful day!

Flowers and a Tree

Hello hello!  I've made cards for quite a few challenges lately but then never got around to posting them so I am determined to stop that trend right now.  First up is a card for the current RetroSketches challenge.  I didn't stray far from the design at all and, as always, I was proud of myself for using so much patterned paper.  The flowers are Paper Smooches and the sentiment is Altenew.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Chocolate Chip) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Reunion 6x6) My Mind's Eye
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Birthday Greetings) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaMark) Tsukineko
Embossing Powder:  (Opaque Bright White Super Fine) Wow
Die:  (Flowers & leaves) Paper Smooches, (Small scalloped border) Papertrey Ink
Gems:  Doodlebug

This next card is for the Cupcake Inspirations Trees challenge.  I went really CAS for this sympathy card and used some stamps that haven't seen ink in a long time (and sadly are no longer available).  The tree is from WPlus9 and the sentiment is from Fresh Squeezed Stamps.

That's it for now.  Back tomorrow with a few more cards!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Elegant Eggplant) Stampin' Up
