Thank You Tag

Just one card from me today.  This is for the sketch challenge over at The Paper Players.  I needed a few thank you cards for a special order and this sketch got me going on the first one.  The flower is a Paper Smooches die that's layered multiple times.  I don't know where the tag came from but I like the distressed edges on it.  That Scotch decorative tape is one of my favourites.  Pretty sketchy polka dots!  Off to work now - have a lovely day!

CASology #157

Welcome to Week 157 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

This card is one of those rare examples where the design I saw in my head is pretty much how the actual card turned out.  It's super simple but I just love that little rainbow of butterflies!  I'm guessing we'll see a lot of butterflies this week (because really, they are one of the prettiest things around that have wings) but I'll be excited to see what else you all come up with for this week's challenge.  Be sure to check out the gorgeous creations from the rest of the design team and then play along!

Link your creations to the CASology blog and remember that the deadline for entries is Monday at noon (CST).

I'm also going to enter this card in the Lawnscaping Inspired by the Rainbow challenge and the Just Add Ink Butteflies challenge.

Stars & Cocktails

Today's first card is for two Hero Arts related challenges:  A Blog Named Hero has asked us to Make the Sentiment the Star and a2z Scrapbooking wants a CAS card using Hero Arts products.  I wanted to play with my embossing paste so I mixed my paste with some yellow ink and used a Stampin' Up star stencil to create the background.  The background was just perfect for this sweet sentiment and with it's different fonts and little stars it has enough personality to carry the card.  I embossed it onto blue cardstock to mimic the night sky and added a few yellow gems.  Super simple!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Night of Navy) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from CL582) Hero Arts
Inks:  (VersaMark) Tsukineko
Embossing Powder:  (Seafoam White) Ranger
Die:  (Stitched Rectangles) Lil' Inker Designs
Stencil:  Stampin' Up
Gems:  Recollections

This second card is for The Friday Mashup and I'm using both parts of the challenge - a project with food or drink on it and it's coloured with markers.  I stamped, coloured and cut out these adorable drinks and sunglasses from Paper Smooches and pieced them onto the card base - some flat and some with dimensional adhesive.  The washi tape is a new Duck Washi that I got while I was on vacation and I thought the ocean vibe of it went perfectly with the tropical drinks.  That's it for now - it's time to head off for my first day back at work but I'll be back tomorrow.  Have a wonderful day!

Flowers, Triangles & Specs

Hello again!  I'm back with a few more of the cards I created yesterday.  First up is a card for the Muse challenge using the Colour Me…Playful colours. This is Anita's first card as a Muse designer - whoop whoop!  If you haven't seen her work before you should take a moment to check it out - she has a great CAS style that I love.  As you can see from my card I really liked her Muse design and I've stuck very close to it in terms of layout and images.  Her adorable Woodware flowers reminded me of these Simon Says ones that had yet to see ink so it was a great excuse to pull them out. Also if it wasn't for Anita's card I probably wouldn't have come up with anything for the Colour Me challenge but the two fit together perfectly.  Love when that happens!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Blackberry Bliss) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Flowers from Scribble Flowers) Simon Says Stamp, (Sentiment from Grand Greetings) Lawn Fawn

Embossing Powder:  (Seafoam White) Ranger
Gems:  Recollections

This next card is also a two-for-one challenge card.  I combined the Little Tangles die cutting challenge with the latest Colour Throwdown palette.  These colours rock!  I love the lime green and aqua together and the greys are the perfect compliments.  And how cute is the little bucket in the inspiration photo?  I want one!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Lucky Limeade, Coastal Cabana, Smokey Slate, Basic Grey) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Just For You) Neat & Tangled
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko

Gems:  Recollections

This card is a CAS design for the current Addicted to Stamps & More challenge.  It also uses the palette from ColourQ where they are celebrating their 300th challenge! Whoop whoop!  I've been playing along with ColourQ since I first began blogging and they provided me with one of my fist challenge recognitions which meant so much to me when I was starting out.  Arielle and all the team members rock! The stamps are all from Paper Smooches.  That's it from me today but I'll be back tomorrow!  Have a great night!

Back in Action!

Hello hello!  We are back on the rock after a fabulous vacation in Vermont and New Hampshire.  We rented a gorgeous house out in the woods that was so peaceful - it was tough to leave it.  Sadly reality was calling and it's back to regular life now.

I actually managed to get some cards made today. Usually it take me ages to get back into the card making groove when I've been away from it for a while but today felt pretty good.  First up is a card for the Paper Smooches Sparks Anything Goes challenge.  This came together fairly quickly as it's just simple paper piecing.  I love that laughing moon - he just makes me happy.  :)

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Daffodil Delight, Night of Navy, Smokey Slate) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (All from Cosmos) Paper Smooches
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Gems:  Recollections

Next up is a card for the AEIHeartU Sparkle challenge and the Simon Says Sparkle and Shine challenge.  I used the little balloon die from AE's Icon Fill in the Blank and the sentiment is from Storybook.  I also made a version with blue balloons.  Gotta cover all the bases and I know my little card stand at the animal hospital is in desperate need of restocking so I need to make as many cards as possible this weekend.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Pink glitter) DCWV, (Smokey Slate) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Storybook) Avery Elle
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Embossing Powder:  (Clear Super Fine Detail) Ranger
Die:  (Icon Fill in the Blank) Avery Elle

Last but not least is a card for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and the Seize the Birthday Anything Goes challenge.  I used a little strip of this adorable Jillibean Soup paper on the side and paper pieced the Amy Tangerine camera which I love and is one of the few stamps that has gotten more than one inking. The sentiment is a combo of Mama Elephant stamps.  That's it for tonight.  I'll post the rest of the cards tomorrow!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) PaperTrey Ink, (Riding Hood Red, Daffodil Delight, Night of Navy) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Sightseeing Stew 6x6) Jillibean Soup
Stamps:  (Camera from Aspire) Amy Tangerine, (Smile from Flashy Letters, Sentiment from Say What) Mama Elephant

CASology #154

Welcome to Week 154 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

This week's cue word leaves the door wide open for lots of interpretation and I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.  I inked a strip with Spun Sugar Distress Ink, stamped a little Paper Smooches candy repeatedly and then covered them with different coloured Stickles.  Sweet, glittery goodness!  Be sure to go and check out all the awesome inspiration from the design team and then play along!

And this week's guest designer:

Trio

Hi there!  I'm back with 3 more cards.  This first card is for 3 challenges - ColourQ, The Male Room and The Friday Mashup.  The theme for The Male Room is Up in the Air (but no birds) so I inked up these Lawn Fawn hot air balloons for the first time.  For The Friday Mashup we were to use the sketch &/or 3 elements.  Obviously I went for the just the 3 elements (although one could possibly argue a very loose interpretation of the sketch!)

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Poppy Parade, Pool Party, Midnight Muse, Crumb Cake) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Balloons from Blue Skies, Sentiment from Flying By) Lawn Fawn
Ink:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Gems:  Doodlebug

Next up is a card for Just Add Ink's colour challenge.  I love the ombre look of the blues in this challenge palette and I used the new SU In colour Tip Top Taupe for the first time.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Soft SKy, Pool Party, Lost Lagoon, Tip Top Taupe) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Botanical Silhouettes) Papertrey Ink
Ink:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Dies:  (Perched Bird, Woodland Branch) Memory Box, (Vertical Stripes Cover Plate) Papertrey Ink
Gems:  Recollections

Finally today is a card for the current CAS(E) This Sketch challenge.  For some reason this sketch made me think of a cape so I inked up these new (to me) Papertrey stamps and used this Tim Holtz border die for the first time ever.  (The lovely Jenny Mullens of Crafting in the Country sent it to me ages ago).  Kind of fun huh?  Okay that's it for me.  Be sure to come back tomorrow for the latest CASology challenge!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Dots from So 80s) WPlus9, (Sentiments from Zappy Birthday) Papertrey Ink
Ink:  (VersaMark, VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
